Raised in the fertile soil of traditional Oklahoma folk, Jonie writes songs that move easily between lightheartedness and fierce vulnerability, weaving intimate lyricism with intricate finger-style guitar arrangements.

After the passing of her father when she was 13, Jonie’s mother handed her a guitar in hopes that songwriting might help her process the loss, developing an early respect for songwriting as both a craft and a refuge. 

Her songs entwine earnest self-reflection with stories of grief and growth experienced in her unorthodox upbringing—complete with eleven older siblings on a small acreage in Oklahoma.

Now based in Los Angeles, Jonie is stepping into a new chapter: one that honors the prairie-grown roots that raised her while carving a sound that is unmistakably her own.
